Dear Families & Friends of Fatima,
Due to the fact that Valentine's Day falls on Ash Wednesday this year, students may be having some Mardi Gras activities on Tuesday the 13th. It's up to the classroom teachers to have informed you of anything special going on, but there will be no parties or special treats on Wednesday, Feb. 14th which is the start of the Lenten season.
Wednesday we will have our regular student Mass, and ashes will be distributed during the service. As with any student Mass, you are welcome to attend. The parish has 4 Masses scheduled that day: 6:30 & 8:15 a.m., and 12:10 and 6:30 p.m.
Ash Wednesday is the start of 40 Days for Life, the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Rice Bowl campaign, and a service project we are doing to benefit the Veterans Integration Center (VIC).
During 40 Days for Life we will recite the prayer for life each morning.
The Rice Bowls will be distributed to students and staff.
For those of you who attended our assembly back in November we had a guest speaker who told us about the good work the VIC does for our local homeless Veterans. We will be sending a gallon size Ziploc bag home with a list of items that can go in the bag and returned to school. These items may include a toothbrush, paste, deodorant, gum, snacks, and the like. We are also collecting socks. We will finish up by March 9th on which day the VIC representative will collect our contributions.
This Friday, Feb. 16th all Catholic School teachers will attend our annual all day inservice at St. Pius X H.S. There will be no school on that day, nor on Monday, the 19th which is Presidents Day.
Remember that registration fees will increase after Friday, March 2nd. Please return your registration package for SY 2018-19 on or before that date.
Thank you for the privilege of teaching your children.
Have a blessed week.
