I hope you have enjoyed this extended weekend. The weather has been outstanding!
Last week I was fortunate to attend a principals’ retreat in Santa Fe near the Carmelite convent. It was good to share ideas and concerns with other school leaders, enjoy the beautiful setting, attend Mass together. I’m grateful that I have such a wonderful staff to depend on in my absence.
This Friday is the end of the 1st quarter. All incomplete student work must be completed by then.
On November, Nov. 3rd, we will dedicate our “First Friday Fellowship” to honor military veterans. We will have a speaker from the Archdiocese who works with homeless vets; our students are preparing some patriotic songs, and we will have some other things going on as well. We are also putting together a slide show and invite you to email a photo of a veteran you know (including yourself) to Mrs. Gray who will be putting it all together. Her email is:
egray@fatimaschoolabq.com. If you are not able to scan and email it, bring it by and we can make a copy. More info will follow.
If you are a Smith’s grocery shopper, make sure you have signed up for their Earn & Learn program where your rewards card is registered, and we receive a check in August for a certain percentage of all the shopping totals. We have copies at school, but you can check it out at
www.SmithsFoodAndDrug.com
We will have our annual Halloween carnival on Friday, Oct. 27th. We will also have our parent/teacher conferences that day, so there are no classes. I will have more to say on this later, but for now, I want to send you information from our PSO which is coordinating the carnival. They will need your help. They are also asking that each family donate a large bag of nut-free candy.
Fr. Steve will be at a priests’ convocation this week so we will not have our usual Wednesday Mass.
Raffle tickets will need to be returned this Friday, Oct. 13th.
Thank you for the opportunity to work with your students,
