Dear Families & Friends of Fatima,
These past two weeks can best be described as bitter-sweet for our Fatima community. While we received a very positive report from the visiting committee on our accreditation, I received word that Fr. Steve’s brother, Fr. Mark, Pastor of Holy Ghost Parish has passed away.
I am asking our teachers to take their students to the 8:15 a.m. Mass tomorrow morning. They need only be in regular school attire.
Visiting Committee Summary Thoughts: The Visiting Committee observed that Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School provides a strong faith based and academic education for the students it serves. Small class sizes and a dedicated administration, faculty and staff support an outstanding learning environment that promotes the value and learning of each student based upon Catholic values. It is truly worthy to be identified as an effective Catholic school in the truest sense
There is a School Consultative Council Meeting scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30 pm in Rm.1 of FGH.
A reminder that Holy Thursday is a 1:00 dismissal and there is NO AFTERCARE that day. There is also no school on Good Friday or Easter Monday.
You may be hearing ads on the radio for our school and a few others. While our small class sizes are the envy of many schools; a few can support more students, and for the longer range, we need to increase our enrollment, particularly in our current 2nd, 4th and 6th grades.
Our 2nd Annual Tim Whalen Memorial Golf Tournament is coming soon–April 22nd. Get a team and sign up, or sponsor a player or team if you can.
As of April 1st, students may wear Fatima shorts and no longer need to wear cardigans to Mass. Please make sure they are observing our handbook in so far as the use of coloring hair, using fingernail polish, or makeup. All of these are not permitted.
Take care, and thank you for the opportunity to educate your children.
