Dear Families & Friends of Fatima, What a week! Congratulations to Ms. Wilson for another outstanding Spring Music Fest. The song choices as usual were wonderful; a nice mix of Christian classics, and fun dancing tunes. The students seemed to really enjoy themselves. Thank you and the midschool students in particular for the touching ending and my "crowning". It will go well with my bee costume next Halloween.
Dear Families & Friends of Fatima, Two weeks to go! Thursday night we will have our Spring Music Program & Art Show. Ms. Wilson has sent home information and a form to be signed and returned indicating that you have received it. Students are to be dressed in their "Sunday best", and seated by 6:45 pm.
Dear Families & Friends of Fatima, I was able to get over to the The Father/Daughter Dance after the Distinguished Disciple Dinner Friday night and it looked like great fun! The girls decked out in beautiful dresses; the Fathers looking their best as well! Thanks to Maxine Padilla for getting this whole idea off the ground, and for the parents that helped make it a wonderful, memorable event.
Dear Families & Friends of Fatima, Beautiful weekend! Congratulations to our Faith Challenge Bowl contestants, and thanks to their coaches, Ms. Wilson and Mrs. HIller. Both the upper and lower grade level teams came in 4th place out of all the Catholic schools.

What a weekend this has been! First let me congratulate our 3rd grade students who made their First Holy Communion at the noon Mass today. What a great day in their young lives, and from here on they will be able to participate fully in the celebration of the Mass! They looked radiant!
Dear Families & Friends of Fatima, We have a big week coming up--our 3rd graders will make their 1st Holy Communion next Sunday at the 12 noon Mass. They had their retreat today in preparation for what will surely be one of the most special days of their lives.
Dear Families & Friends of Fatima, I hope it isn't as windy where you are as it is out here in Edgewood...I'm afraid to let the dogs out, especially the littlest one. Ahhh, springtime in N.M.

I hope you all had a wonderful spring break. The time change threw me off for a few days, but I'm starting to get used to it. This week looks pretty quiet. Thursday is the Regional Science Fair at UNM and we will have a few students presenting their project.
Jessica Castro who has been informed that she is one of thirty winners for her essay entitled "A Senior I Know". There were 3100 entries from students all across Albuquerque. Jessica and her family have been invited by Mayor Tim Keller and APS superintendent, Raquel Reedy to an Awards Ceremony and reception in May. Also invited to attend are her teacher, Mrs. Lincoln, and Principal DeHaas. We are so very proud of you, Jessica!
During our 1st Friday staff meetings, one of the things we do is review our calendar. This most recent review took us through the end of the school year...which is coming sooner than I can believe! I'll mention the events for this week and a few to keep in mind for the near future.
I can hardly believe that February is almost over. Can spring be far behind? Or a late winter? This Tuesday, Feb. 27th for 40 Days for Life, Our Lady of Fatima parishioners will join in peaceful prayer in front of Planned Parenthood at 701 San Mateo NE. I plan to attend before school starts. All are invited to participate from 7am-7pm.
Dear Families & Friends of Fatima, I hope you are enjoying a nice, long weekend. I've just a few things to mention for this week. We sent home gallon size baggies on Thursday to fill with various comfort items which will be given to the Veterans Integration Center (VIC) to distribute.
